Which ovary is better for becoming pregnant?

Women have two ovaries. Is one ovary better than the other when trying to conceive? The answer is going to surprise you

The ovaries contain all of the eggs a woman has. Each month, in normal women, a single egg is released from one of those ovaries. Here are three interesting facts about the ability to get pregnant.

Women ovulate from the right ovary 10% more often than the left ovary. 55% of ovulations occur from the right side and only 45% occur from the left side. Although the general tendency is for ovulation to switch sides each month, that doesn’t always happen.

Sometimes women will ovulate from the same ovary two or more times in a row. If the follicular phase, which is the time from the beginning of your period until ovulation is less than 14 days, it is more common to ovulate from the opposite ovary the next month. If its more than 14 days, then it seems to be completely random

Your chance for pregnancy is better when you ovulate from the right side. I know, its sounds crazy but researchers studied thousands of cycles in women who ovulated. They looked at women with normal fertility who got pregnant on their own and women with infertility who got pregnant with treatment. They found that in months where a woman became pregnant, about two thirds of the time, ovulation happened from the right ovary.

Your chances for pregnancy are better when you ovulate from the opposite ovary from the previous month. This is true if you ovulate on your own or with fertility medication like Clomid

Out InfertilityTV bottom line is -- We have no bottom line. The human body is strange and we clearly dont understand a lot of things about it. What the heck, if you got pregnant from ovulation on your left side, leave a message in the comments
